Let's Read!
Learn the benefits of reading to your childGive your child the building blocks ready for schoolMake reading fun and part of your child’s daily routineThe 'Let's Read' Program is an early childhood literacy initiative developed by the Murdoch Children's Research Institute's Centre for Community Child Health and the Smith Family. The program does not try to teach children to read before they go to school, it aims to help children become familiar with reading by encouraging parents to read to their children. "Lets Read' is incorporated into home visiting sessions, included in supported playgroups and offered through parent workshops. Home literacy is encouraged with free books and other resources and a DVD provides parents with a visual demonstration of how to improve their child's literacy skills.
